Vintage 1940's LHS Purex Slim Jim Pipe 231
This rare vintage LHS Purex Slim Jim pipe 231 was produced in the early 1940's by L & H Stern, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY. The pipe is approximately 5.5 inches long and 1.5 inches high. The bowl is approximately 1.25 inches wide with a 5/8 inch diameter opening. This is not a used or refurbished estate pipe, it is an original, over half century old, never used, never smoked pipe in brand new condition taken off the original 1940’s sales card displayed in the last image.
The pipe display came from Waller Specialties in Minot, ND. They were a distributor of tobacco pipes and accessories, sunglasses, cosmetic supplies (combs, brushes, nail files, etc.) and numerous other items. The distributor closed in the late 1940's and was boarded up until the early 1990’s. This is one of the many items we acquired years ago from them.
