Vintage 1973 William Nowland Van Powell U.S. Ships of 76 Foil Etch Print Set

This William Nowland Van Powell U.S. Ships of 76 color foil etch print set was produced by Brown and Bigelow in 1973. The set contains four prints titled:

"The Continental Navy Brig Lexington Defeated and Captured the Sloop Edward"

"The Frigate Randolf, 32 - Broadside Battle With the 64 Gun H.B.M. Yarmouth"

"The Continental Navy Brig Andrea Doria Showing the Flag at St. Eustatius"

"The Continental Navy Ranger Defeated and Captured the Frigate H.M.S. Drake"

The prints are approximately 8 inches wide x 10 inches high and the foil images are 7.75 inches wide x 5.75 inches high. The set comes in the original portfolio and also contains an insert page describing each ship battle. They have been stored in a smoke free, pet free, climate controlled warehouse and have never been used.

The prints may have a slight discoloration along the edge from decades of storage in the non-acid free portfolio. The prints may also have a slight corner ding on the matting, but both issues can easily be covered with a frame and they do not affect the image or overall quality of the matting.
